SUNDAY'S @ 10:00 AM at The University of Southern Maine, 88 Bedford Street, Portland, Maine, 04104

We envision a church that …

  • worships God with all of its heart, soul, and mind.
  • loves its neighbors as itself.
  • engages culture rather than accommodates it or isolates ourselves from it.
  • causes our community to connect with God through Jesus.
  • defines itself by what it stands “for” rather than what it might be against.
  • causes guests of our Sunday gatherings to experience God's love.
  • is committed to the masters plan of discipleship-evangelism and planting new churches

Cross Church is God-centered congregation committed to loving God by transforming Greater Portland with His love through culturally relevant music, engaging expositional messages, authentic fellowship, Christ-centered discipleship, and passionate community outreach.

Cross Church celebrates love, joy, kindness, goodness, grace, mercy, peace, justice, simplicity, authenticity, patience, gentleness, self-control, beauty, reason, and even science.  In fact, since this world is God’s, we believe Christians should care for the environment more than anyone.

Long ago a man asked Jesus, “What is the most important mandate in Scripture?” Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.

Therefore, our motto is simple—Love God and Love People.
